The Economist has determined that AI technology for translation is now “good enough” to serve its Espresso app subscribers. Microsoft deal propels Three Mile Island restart, with key permits still needed

It turns out that AI and data centers require significant amounts of energy! As such, Microsoft has now signed a 20 year agreement with Constellation Energy to provide carbon-free energy from the Three Mile Island nuclear plant in Pennsylvania. The plant, shut down in 2019 due to economic reasons, will now generate 835 megawatts of clean energy. ChatGPT Plus price could more than double within 5 years — here’s why

Reflecting the high costs associated with running AI services, OpenAI plans to significantly increase the price of its ChatGPT Plus subscription over the next five years. Currently priced at $20 per month, the subscription could rise to $44 per month by 2029. It’s unclear whether subscribers will be willing to pay this higher price to continue using the service. California Passes “Click to Cancel” Subscription Law

In an effort to prevent harmful practices like complicated cancellation procedures and hidden fees, California has introduced a new law mandating a clear, one-click option for subscription cancellation.
